The Streak Continues…if you’re referring to 0-3 in the Big East
1. The Big East losing streak from last season doesn’t carry over in my mind. It’s a completely different team. To concern yourself with last year in a year that has no basis on this season is just harping on the negative. Forget about it. Last time I checked they don’t add on those losses to this years record.
2. I have no problems with GC’s three down the stretch. Maybe he’s not the best shooter from 3, but it shows that this kid has tremendously big testicles and isn’t afraid to back down from the big shot. I mean he was wide open too. If he hits it, everyone in the world is sucking his cock. I loved that he wasn’t afraid of the big moment. It speaks to the type of big time player he will become. Next time he won’t pass up the shot. He just won’t miss.
3. To say that this team is “too talented” to make poor decisions down the stretch is a bunch of bullshit. This team seriously lacks talent. Besides Marshon, everyone else playing are freshmen and sophomores. Really only 6 people play. Our bigs need time to develop, like any set of bigs. Batts looks like he fits the Dante Cunningham from Villanova type mold as a player, but even Cunningham needed his fair share of time to develop into the NBA player he is now (2 ppg as a fr., 9 as a soph., 10 as a jr. and finally 16 as a sr.). Dixon, on the other hand, cannot generate points on his own and probably would not see many minutes on other Big East squads. But he is what he is. He’s what we have. Live with it.
4.What they make up for in lack of talent is heart. Talent and heart are very different. When you play with heart, you play scrappy and with high energy. You don’t always make the right play–you sometimes get lucky and unlucky. People just need to stop pretending that this team is something it’s not–and that’s highly talented. They are a scrappy bunch that are about 2 talented players and a year or two away from being a true competitor. That’s not a bad thing. It just is what it is. People just need to stop getting mad because they expect some players to perform much higher than they are actually capable of performing.
5. In Ledo We Trust. Amen.
6. If anyone actually reads this, well you must be pretty bored with your life. But by far the best friar resource out there is http://www.friarbasketball.net/….everything he says is spot on. It’s a one spot stop for analysis. It’s head and toes above any other references out there. Between that and the scout forums, you should be able to get your fix of PC news.
